48-Hour Runway Challenge: Rapid AI Storytelling

For this project, we created a short film as part of a 48-hour Runway AI filmmaking challenge, later featured at the AI Film Festival in Amsterdam. The brief required integrating one selection from each of three categories — an Inciting Incident such as a natural disaster, heartbreak, or disappearance; an Archetype like a lone parent, mischievous creator, or unbreakable leader; and a Location, ranging from wilderness to limbo or a time-shifted realm — while leaving room for creative interpretation and a distinct visual aesthetic. On top of that, we had to manage 300 AI-generated credits and complete the entire film in just 48 hours.
The Solution
We designed a simple but flexible narrative structure that met the brief while giving us the freedom to generate visually striking shots. This approach allowed us to explore AI’s potential for rapid, creative storytelling while maintaining a cohesive story arc.
The result was a bold experiment in rapid storytelling — a film that not only met the challenge but showed what’s possible when human intuition and AI generation move in sync. Beyond the 48-hour sprint, it became a glimpse into a new kind of filmmaking defined by agility, imagination, and the evolving dialogue between technology and storytelling.
